I just listened to the most recent episode of The Rest Is Politics. It’s rather long and in-depth, so I won’t try to summarise it, but I just want to say that the hosts, Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell, are now talking seriously and earnestly about events in the middle east now escalating and spiralling into a third world war. They weren’t being hyperbolic and their analysis seemed sound. I have to say that I find that truly, truly frightening. As things stand, we seem to be heading somewhere nobody wants to go, in large part due to Donald Trump’s vanity, ignorance and ego. Surely something must be done to avert this catastrophe.
