I realise that the subject of my entry yesterday may have seemed rather misplaced, even slightly random, given everything else going on in the wider world. To be honest it was an entry I began typing into my Ipad yesterday morning, sat on a bus having settled on the subject just after breakfast. Truth be told, i’m not sure what to say about the two bigger, more salient issues: on the one hand we have the King’s visit to America, which seems to me to have done nothing other than flatter and appease Trump, massaging his ego in exactly the way he craves. On the other hand there was the entirely predictable defeat of the Tories’ pathetic attempt to trigger an inquiry against Kier Starmer, notable only for the fact that it should never have seen the light of day in the first place. If any tory had an iota of integrity, they’d refer theirselves to the privileges comittee, rather than launch baseless bullshit stunts against Starmer! It was just a perverse, hypocritical attempt to smear him. I’m just glad to see that the stunt will get no further than it did, leaving me to blog about more interesting things, like James Bond.
