I just watched the Beeb’s interview with Sir Kier Starmer. While, like many political interviews, you could find it a tad dull and monotonous, what I felt came across most was Starmer’s humility and humanity. This is clearly a man who really is motivated to do the right thing: he isn’t about greed or personal ambition, but came into politics to try to make people’s lives better. Whether he succeeded in that or not is obviously a matter of perspective, but frankly I think Starmer is – or was – a downright better man than any of his Tory predecessors combined: he simply wanted to help people. If you have the time and inclination, the interview is well worth a watch/
