I realise I haven’t made a political entry in a while, so I think the best thing I can do today is to direct you all to this piece of bizarreness. The spectacle of Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart interviewing a dude dressed as a bin is Pythonesque enough, but it makes you wonder how the smeg we got to this point. To be fair the guy gives a pretty good interview, constantly seeming to straddle the line between satire and earnestness; and anyone who would expose Farage as the arrogant joke he is of course has my full and unwavering support. Yet, to step back a moment, it’s nonetheless slightly sad that British political discourse has reached this point, and that people have had to resort to such childishness. Then again, the only person we have to blame for that is Farage himself.
