It’s rather long and involved, but I certainly think this video by Jimmy the Giant is worth a watch. In it, he summarises the current status of the British far right. As we’ll all be aware, the movement, born largely from 1980s football hooliganism, is now seeing a resurgence. Certain demographics of people seem to be being drawn towards figureheads like Tommy Robinson through a misguided sense of insecurity. He highlights a few of the oddities and contradictions in the kind of nationalism we’re currently seeing becoming more and more prevalent. I wont’t try to summarise what he says, but to be honest it’s as interesting as it is horrifying.
